Road Trip is Bonnie and Clyde’s response to the claustrophobia of Brexit Britain; a celebration of freedom, of our human desire to hit the open road and to explore hidden corners of the globe. The piece incorporates a series of self-taken photographs, which Bonnie and Clyde has collaged with layers to create a dizzying perspective. At the centre of the print sits a garage space, crafted from a mash-up of urban structures which the artist has surrounded with patches of verdure, sky and sea. Geometric blocks of black and grey against white evoke the roads which, in the artist’s surreal vision are never straight and narrow but always twisting and turning into unknowable adventures and unforeseeable futures.
